FAQ

Do people need a monday.com account to fill in a form?

No. Anyone with the link can fill in a form or use an update link. Only the people building forms need monday.com.

Where do the answers go?

Each submission becomes a new item on the board the form was built from, with every answer in its own column. Files go to the item's Files column. Waypost doesn't keep a copy.

Can I use one form for several boards?

No. A form belongs to the board it was built on, because its questions are that board's columns. Build a form on each board, or send everything to one intake board and move items from there with monday.com automations.

Does it work on private boards?

Yes. Each form writes with its creator's own monday.com access, so it works on any board you can open.

Can I change a form after sharing it?

Yes. Edit it from My forms and click Save changes. The link you shared keeps working and shows the new version straight away.

Does the form link expire?

No. It works until the form's close date or response limit, or until you delete the form. Update links are different: they always expire, after 1 to 90 days.

Why can't I add a People or Location column?

Those columns can't be filled in from a public form yet. They're listed under Not available in forms. Columns monday.com fills in itself, like Creation log or Item ID, are listed under Filled automatically.

Can I change a question's wording?

Question titles are the column titles. Rename the column on the board to change it. Use Help text to add a hint under the question.

How is Waypost different from monday.com's WorkForms?

Based on monday.com's documentation when we checked (October 2026):

  • Steps and prefill on any plan. WorkForms needs monday.com's Pro plan or above for multiple pages and URL prefill. Waypost has both on its Free plan, whatever your monday.com plan.
  • Logic. Waypost rules can combine conditions with AND or OR, hide whole pages, and narrow one question's options from an earlier answer.
  • Update links. Anyone can update an existing item through a Waypost link, without a monday.com account.
  • A Tags question, and no third-party scripts on the public form.

WorkForms comes with monday.com, so for a simple form it may be all you need.

What doesn't Waypost do yet?

No captcha, no built-in analytics, no People, subitem or Connect boards questions, no payments, and no AI features.

How do I stop a form taking answers?

Set a close date or response limit in Form settings, or delete the form. Deleting stops the link straight away; items it created stay on the board.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Waypost deletes the forms, links and settings it stored for your account. Items already on your boards stay. See Data and security.

I filled in someone's form and need to change my answer.

Contact the team that sent you the form. Waypost can't see or change answers; they're on that team's monday.com board.
